I use USB for Open PS2 Loader but I want to try and use SMB since I heard that is more reliable. I don't have a HDD for my fat so I don't have an ethernet port for it.
FMCB does not allow you to run region free DVD, PS1, PS2 discs. It also does not allow you to run homebrew from disc. FMCB also has poor compatibility with PS1 games since it relies on popstarter instead of the hardware based backwards compatibility.
